Lion Around
We'll be at Lauderdale House, Highgate, London this Sunday for their craft fair. I ususally show a selection of framed photographs, but this time we're trying something new. Our display will be made up of collographs, drypoint and aquatints!

Home Sweet Home
Another weekend craft fair drew to a close in a downpour (just as we were packing up - typical!)
And, our car was, what seemed like miles away from our stand. Two back breaking hauls of gear and an hour and a half drive home and I'm ready for a good night's sleep!
Although, I won't have a lye in tomorrow as I have to collect my work from Highgate in the morning...

Fair Clare
![]() |
| Part of our display at Clare Priory |
We had a very long, tiring and excellent day out today!
The rain held off (mostly), and I made a few sales. The grounds at Clare Priory are superb, with a real old fashioned village fete atmosphere to it (albeit on a rather large scale!)
So, if you're in or around the Suffolk area on Sunday, pop in for the last day. The weather's looking good, and it promises to be a great day out...

The Early Worm
I'm not used to early starts these days, so getting up at 4.30 this Saturday is going to be a bit of a shock!
We have a craft fair at the wonderful Clare Priory in Suffolk, but we have to set up at 7am.
The weather's not looking great but it only happens once a year, so it's rather special and I'm sure it won't stop people from coming along. Our display this time will be Blue Shift 'lite' - Mounted prints instead of framed. Come along if you're in the area and let's hope us early birds catch a few worms!

Mounting Excitement
I'm in the fortunate situation of having 32 framed pictures at 3 exhibitions at the moment!
This is great, except that I have no frames left for my next show at the Clare Priory Craft Fair next weekend. But I do have a cunning plan - use mounted prints instead! I have lots of those, and they are probably ideal for a craft fair as they are a lot cheaper than framed pictures.
The other advantage is weight. A car packed with 20 framed pictures is like having another two passengers in the car and their luggage!

Clare Priory Craft Fair
I'm in the lucky (but busy) position to have several overlapping events coming up.
On the final weekend at Lauderdale House, I'll have a fair at Clare Priory, Suffolk, as well as a one day Pop up Exhibition in Kentish Town, London. And, I still have work at the Stark Gallery, Canterbury...
This is probably the first time, I'll have no artwork left in the house, as it will all be on show!

Frame Store
I've been getting my work ready for a solo exhibition at the end of the month.
I don't have a huge amount of space to work with large frames, so it's always a bit of a juggling act, try to handle the prints, mounts, rulers, tape and cutters safely. The next problem is finding somewhere to store it all! :-)

It's a Wrap...
I'll be mixing things up a little for our next art and craft event show at Lauderdale House. I'll be showing more of my abstract work for a change, as well as having a new setup for displaying the pictures. And, instead of framed pictures, I'll have a selection of mounted prints in browsers. Come along on the 12th June if you can!

Getting Board
My last round of framing means I've just had to order another batch of mount board and backing board. I'm using a lot of black core mount board at the moment which really highlights the vibrant print
colours...
and, as I have a small craft fair coming up at Lauderdale House in June, I thought I'd show a selection of my abstract work on display, like 'Spark' above and this one, 'Infinite Resolution'...
It makes a nice change from the Nature images and I love hearing people trying to guess what the pictures are of!

Poor Show
The day started off well. We arrived bright and early with lots of nice colourful pictures. The set up went very smoothly and we were pleased to get everything nicely lit. I didn't even forget anything this time (I usually forget to pack the Blu Tac, sandwiches or something essential for getting through the day).
So we settled down and waited for the doors to open around 10.30... Then it started to rain. It continued raining for another two hours. This was the disastrous start to the day no one needed. By 2pm. only a handful of people had come through the door. By this time, it was of course Sunday lunch, leaving us exhibitors to wander around chatting glumly for an hour or so.
The sun finally made an appearance around 3pm, which bought another handful of people out, but it was too late - no sales and a pretty much wasted day. Oh well, at least we had a nice display, even if there was no one there to see it! Hopefully, things will be better for our next visit in a month's time!

Pressing Printing
I've been printing some new pictures in time for this weekend's art and craft fair. These are for 30x40cm frames with black core mounts, which really helps bring out the vibrant colours...

Lauderdale House Art and Craft Show
We'll be at Lauderdale House for their regular little Art and Craft show this Sunday. I'll have a selection of open and limited edition pictures on show. And, if the weather's nice, the grounds and park make a for an excellent walk too!

Hibernation
I've had a slow start to this year, with an extended holiday over Christmas. I'm now emerging bleary eyed from under the duvet to get moving again! Lots of things to do. Frames and mount board to order, fairs to book and new pictures to plan out :-)

Christmas Cheer
Our last show ended successfully with the sale of four pictures, and a commission in the planning :-) A sunny, winter's day helped get people through the door, so we've been lucky to end the year on a high note. Now it's back to planning for next year!
