In all but my very earliest work, I've kept away from special effects, (such as the distortion on Clear Air Turbulence for example). I try to use only what can be done using classical photography. (Thankfully, dust removal is much easier digitally!). When you see images like the one above, you might think its full of effects, but apart from adjustments of brightness, contrast and saturation, this image (a polarised image shot of a clear plastic bottle top), is all real! Who needs special effects?!
