Flat batteries

I had good intensions to get experimenting with some short duration imaging today, then found that the six AA batteries I need for the flash gun were flat. 'No problems', I thought - I'll use the small flash gun to try some tests... and yes, you guessed it; flat batteries. Frustrated, I've ordered a charger and eight NiMh batteries, so hopefully that wont happen again! At least I've managed to spend the day stripping wallpaper from the office wall, so something was achieved!
