How Computers Work

I grew up with computers, from the first wobbly steps to the slick machines we take for granted now. Like cars today, they usually work so well, so it's a shock when they fail (by the way, when was the last time you saw a rusty car?)

So when inexplicably last week, one by one, all the Adobe products I rely heavily upon to create my website and manage my images, failed, I felt a little lost! Even the incredible amount of info, forums and general web advice didn't help... I even resorted to the helpdesk for assistance.

Eventually, using the back up system on the my computer, I finally worked out how to restore the correct  missing files, presumed destroyed from my much missed software. I still have no idea why they failed, but having a little (admittedly basic) understanding from long ago helped solve the problem.

And, just like fixing cars (remember when you could still do that?), a little of your own knowledge is worth a thousand Google searches. Geeky? A little, but I'm still waiting for a reply from the Adobe helpdesk!

Website Display Problems

You may have trouble viewing my website if you've upgraded to Windows 7 or updated to Internet Explorer 8. It seems there is a problem with the code that runs image previews and the latest software. This runs fine on Safari, Firefox, etc. As soon as I can find out how to update it, I will! In the meantime, my apologies. It's very frustrating and annoying! :-(
